Property World

Usher’s real estate business is conducted through Property World, a specialist real estate marketing company headed up by CEO Devon Usher. Property World was appointed by the Grinaker Construction group to market Selborne Park south of Durban, South Africa’s first golfing estate. This was followed in 1993 by the appointment to market Johnnic Properties’ Dainfern Golf Estate in Johannesburg’s northern suburbs. This appointment led to a long working relationship with Johnnic with the marketing of their Matumi Golf Estate in Nelspruit and the Steenberg and Atlantic Beach Golf Estates, both in Cape Town.

In 2006 Property World was contracted by the Rabie Property Group, one of South Africa’s leading property development companies to market their residential developments within the vibrant Century City precinct in Cape Town. Since 2006, Property World has sold out the following developments in Century City: Island Club, Knightsbridge, Bougain Villas, Manhattan, Waterstone, Bougain Villas, Ashton Park, Manhattan Quarter, Mayfair, Matrix, Waters Edge, Axis, Bridgewater One, Terraces, Nine Palms,Quayside, Quaynorth, Little Moorings, Crystal Towers, and On Park.

Property World will soon be launching Rabie’s new development in Century City called Park Place.

In 2016 Rabie entered into a joint venture with Nedbank to complete the development of the Burgundy Estate precinct also in Cape Town. In this precinct Property World has sold out developments such as Zarina, Springfield, Avenida, Brookside, Hazelwood, BowTie and Quinta. Property World are now selling Rabie’s new Burgundy Estate development off plan – Rhapsody.

In 2002 the Johnnic group was unbundled and decided to sell off its property development interests including Atlantic Beach which was only 50% developed. The development rights were sold to Skeena Trading company – a consortium led by the Rabie Group. By 2005 Skeena had completed the development and Allen Usher and the then General Manager of the golf club, Bill Taylor, acquired Skeena, and in so doing, acquired ownership of the golf club. In 2012 Usher and Taylor sold the Golf Club to the Atlantic Beach Homeowners Association.

Atlantic Beach is considered one of the most successful golf estates in South Africa. Property World Atlantic Beach is the market leader in sales at Atlantic Beach having sold more than 1600 properties to the value of R1,85 Billion.

In 1993, Usher founded the Golf Resorts Club offering it’s members prime golf vacations in homes that Golf Resorts owns in select golf estates such as Fancourt, Arabella, Pezula, Pinnacle Point, Erinvale, Atlantic Beach, Zimbali, Selborne Park, San Lameer, Champagne Sports Resort, Magalies Park, White River Country Estate, Kruger Park Lodge, Hans Merensky and Elements. In 2010 the First Resorts Group acquired the Golf Resorts Club from Usher and has grown the Club to be the largest golf holiday ownership club in South Africa.
