Usher’s real estate business is conducted through Property World, a specialist real estate marketing company, headed up by Allen’s son Devon Usher as CEO and daughter and son-in-law Claire & Aldo as branch sales managers.
Property World
was appointed in 1987 by the Grinaker Construction group to market Selborne Park south of Durban, South Africa’s first golfing estate. This was followed in 1991 by the appointment to market Johnnic Properties’ Dainfern Golf Estate in Johannesburg’s northern suburbs.
This appointment led to a long working relationship with Johnnic with the marketing of their Matumi Golf Estate in Nelspruit and the Steenberg Golf Estate in Cape Town.
Atlantic Beach Estate
Following on the success of the development of Steenberg Estate, Johnnic commissioned Allen Usher to find land in the greater Cape Town metropole for the development of another golf estate.
Usher approached the Rabie Property Group who had acquired such land from the City Council in Melkbosstrand. In February 1997, Rabie agreed to sell the land to Johnnic and the planning stages of the golf estate was implemented, and so, ATLANTIC BEACH ESTATE was born.
Property World were appointed to market the estate and sales of the freehold erven commenced in 1998. Atlantic Beach is considered one of the most successful golf estates in South Africa. Property World is the market leader in sales at Atlantic Beach having sold more than 1600 properties to the value of more than R1,85 Billion.
Century City
In 2006 Property World was contracted by the Rabie Property Group, one of South Africa’s leading property development companies to market their residential developments within the vibrant CENTURY CITY precinct in Cape Town.
Since 2006, Property World have sold out the following developments in Century City: Island Club, Knightsbridge, Bougain Villas, Manhattan, Waterstone, Bougain Villas, Crystal Towers, Ashton Park, Manhattan Quarter, Mayfair, Matrix, Waters Edge, Quayside, Quaynorth, Little Moorings, Axis, Bridgewater One, Terraces, Nine Palms, On Park and Park Place. Property World are now selling Rabie’s latest development in the Ratanga precinct of Century City called The Bridges.

Burgundy Estate
In 2016 Rabie entered into a joint venture with Nedbank to complete the development of the BURGUNDY ESTATE precinct also in Cape Town. In this precinct Property World have sold out developments such as Zarina, Springfield, Avenida, Brookside, Hazelwood, BowTie, Quinta, Rhapsody, Umberwood and Jardine.
Property World will soon be launching Rabie’s new Burgundy Estate development– Finwood.
